Liz Bersell for Norwell Schools

Healthy Schools. Thoughtful Planning. Strong Partnerships.

Meet Liz Bersell, candidate for Norwell School Committee

My family moved to Norwell in 2019 after my husband and I were drawn to the town’s strong public schools and sense of community. Our two children attend Cole School, and we are fortunate to have extended family members in the Norwell Public Schools across multiple grade levels, giving our family a broad connection to the district.
I have been actively involved in the Cole School community since 2021. I currently serve as Vice President of Communications for the Cole School PTO and previously served two years on the Cole School Council. During the 2024–2025 school year, I was honored to serve as a parent representative on the school’s 5-Year School Improvement Plan, where I gained valuable experience in long-term planning and collaboration among families, educators, and administrators.
Professionally, I bring more than 15 years of experience in education, health care, and administration as a registered nurse and educational leader. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Saint Anselm College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. I currently serve as the school nurse at Woodward School in Quincy, where I oversee health policies, teach health and wellness curriculum aligned with Massachusetts frameworks, and work with state agencies to ensure compliance with public health and education regulations. As a parent, volunteer, and educator, I value collaboration, thoughtful decision-making, and a long-term perspective. Strong, healthy public schools are foundational to a thriving community, and I am committed to supporting decisions that strengthen Norwell for students, families, and residents alike.
